Alex Goldrich as Macbeth
Alex Goldrich is very happy to be working again with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company. Born in Ottawa, raised in New Brunswick, and a Montrealer since 2007, Alex has performed in such roles as Hotspur in Henry IV, pt 1 (Saint John Shakespeare Festival), Rev. Hale in The Crucible (Saint John Theatre Company), King Charles / Williams in Henry V (Persephone Productions), Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Saint John Theatre Company), Larry in Closer (Chesterfield Productions) and as Lucius in the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company's production of Titus Andronicus. Stephanie von Roretz as Lady Macbeth
Stephanie von Roretz graduated from Dawson College's Professional Theatre Program with Honors in 2010 where she performed in productions such as The Crucible by Arthur Miller and Escape from Happiness by Canadian playwright George F. Walker. This is her fourth production with The Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company having been in their 2011 production of Twelfth Night, the epic (and bloody) tragedy Titus Andronicus, and in their 2012 production of Romeo and Juliet. She is excited to be working with familiar faces in Macbeth and looks forward to meeting some new ones.
Mireck Metelski as Banquo
Actor, stage director and teacher, Mireck holds a BFA in theatre performance from Concordia University. He's also a talented singer who has been performing in musical theatre and operetta for the last 10 years. He has had training in Jing Ju (Beijing Opera), a traditional form of Chinese theatre, and has had the opportunity to showcase his talent in the Montreal Fringe Festival last summer. He is a bilingual performer and works both in repertoire theatre and new play development. His recent stage credits include King Ménélaus in Jacques Offenbach's La Belle Hélène performed at Place-des-Arts last fall. Next June he will be performing in a French classical comedy with Carré Théâtre in Longueil. He is currently directing Montreal West Operatic Society's first bilingual production of Offenbach's Orpheus In The Underworld and will be directing his first Montreal fringe production, The Little Prince: As Retold by Renaissance Statesman Niccolo Machiavelli. He is extremely excited to join the cast of Macbeth this summer and feels priviledged to be working with M.S.T.C. team.
Ian Geldart as Macduff
Ian is thrilled and honoured to be both playing the role of Macduff and to be working with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company for the first time. A graduate of John Abbott's Professional Theatre Program in spring of last year, Ian is greatly looking forward to work with such an outstanding ensemble. Since graduating Ian has had the chance to play the role of Sergeant Troy in Persephone Production's Far from the Madding Crowd, Benny in the new musical To Be, and to participate in Janus Production's The Tin Can People which travelled to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last summer. His favourite roles while at John Abbott were Lenny Ganz in Neil Simon's Rumors, Motel in A Fiddler on the Roof and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Aris Tyros as Malcolm
Aris, pronounced (Ah-ree), will be entering his third and final year of Dawson's theatre program this fall. Aris has been having a blast since he started acting, three years ago. As a member of M.S.T.C.'s Titus Andronicus; performed summer 2011, he knows that Macbeth will definitely be a show not to be missed!
Pippa Leslie as Lady Ross
Pippa is a recent graduate of the University of Toronto’s Drama Program and alumni of Canada’s National Ballet School. She has trained with theatre legends Ken Gass and Banuta Rubess while in Toronto, and studied ballet abroad at L’Ecole Superieure de Danse de Rosella Hightower in Cannes, France. Dance and theatre credits include Oh Dad, Poor Dad by Arthur Kopit, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, by Tom Stoppard, Christopher Marlowe’s Dr. Faustus and roles in both productions of The Nutcracker by The National Ballet of Canada and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. This will be Pippa’s first full length production in Montreal since moving here in 2011 and she is honored to be a part of such a talented team.
Jason McCullough as Duncan
Jason is long time veteran of M.S.T.C. He's been with the "Shakespeare Made Easy" school tour for 10 years, and has been in many other M.S.T.C. and Purple 9 Productions. He's proud to be once again in front of the Montreal Community with a well crafted and mature piece of Shakespeare's works.
Sarah Marchand as Lady Macduff
This is Sarah's first production with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company. She is currently a student at Concordia University specializing in Theatre Performance with a minor in English Literature. She has always had a passion for acting. Her most gratifying role to date has been portraying the Stepdaughter in Six Characters in Search of an Author. Sarah is thrilled to be working with the M.S.T.C., especially on her favourite Shakespearean play. She would like to thank all of the friends and family that have given support through her challenging yet extremely rewarding acting journey.
Cedrick Roy as Lennox
A soon to be graduate from John Abbott Professional Theatre: Acting program, this upcoming summer will be Cedrick's first experience working with M.S.T.C. In addition to this production he will take part in the 2012 Montreal Fringe Festival as Blind Man in Edward Bond's The Tin Can People which he has performed in the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well. Other past credits include Rafaele in Eduardo De Filippo's comedy Saturday, Sunday, Monday! and Maurice in Sainte-Carmen of the Main by Michel Tremblay. Outside his acting pursuits, he has also been training in classical ballet, another passion of his, at Centre Choréographique Ballet Divertimento. Cedrick is more than grateful to have this opportunity to work with such an inspiring and talented group of people.
Megan Bradley as Hecate
Megan is thrilled to be working with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company again, about to complete her second School Tour - playing Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet. Last year she was lucky enough to portray Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night. A gradute of the John Abbott College's Professional Theatre program, she has enjoyed playing other roles such as Audrey (As You Like It - Repercussion Theatre), Lynne (Stepping Out - 3 BMP) and Bernice (Luanne - 3 BMP) and Alice (You Can't Take It With You - JAC Theatre). She teaches Drama at the Dollard Center for the Arts (ages 5 - 14), runs the St. Armbroise Montreal FRINGE festival Box Office and has created a program to teach French to the children in English daycares around Montreal called Beyond the Basics. She is very excited about the upcoming show this summer, she has always wanted to be Hecate in Macbeth!
Vanessa Carter as Weird Sister
Vanessa is a graduate of the John Abbott College professional theatre program. This is her first experience with Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company. She is enjoying experiencing new things and working with new people since she has graduated. Some of her past favorite roles include Gwen Landis in Lanford Wilson’s Fifth of July, Chava in Fiddler on the Roof and Polyphontes in Antigone by Sophocles. She had the privilege to travel to Scotland and perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last summer and is excited to be spending this summer working with the M.S.T.C.
Anna-Christina Delfino as Weird Sister
Passionate about theatre, Anna has only been able to appreciate it from an audience or backstage point of view. As she is entering her third year in John Abbott's Professional Theatre Production Program, she is familiar with the design and technical side of theatre but this is her first experience both working with M.S.T.C. and performing and she is thrilled to watch, learn from and work alongside such a talented cast and crew.
Danielle Doiron as Weird Sister
Danielle Doiron hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia where she performed in many school and community theatre plays and musicals. Since arriving to Montreal just over three years ago, Danielle has studied extensively with Jock MacDonald at Carter Thor Studios. She was seen in Freestanding Production"s sold-out run of Autobahn by Neil Labute, as well as Alive from Below 1985 Productions' Elevated: Pushing Buttons (2011 Fringe Festival). Danielle can also be seen frequently as an improviser at Theatre Ste. Catherine and from time to time at Montreal Improv Theatre. Danielle is thrilled and excited to have the opportunity to work with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company this summer!!
Sandra Foisy as Weird Sister
Sandra grew up in the Laurentians, and moved to Montreal in 2005 to pursue her love of acting. She graduated from the Dawson College Professional Theatre Program in 2008. Some favorite performances include: Irma in The Madwoman of Chailliot, and Fanny Goodwill in Joseph Andrews. She has toured for two seasons with the M.S.T.C. in their adaptations of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Hamlet in 2010 and Othello and Twelfth Night in 2011. She also got to be part of the gore in last summer's Titus Andronicus and is very excited and thrilled to take on Macbeth this summer. She would like to thank the M.S.T.C. for this amazing opportunity and wonderful experience.
Irina Ghitulescu as Weird Sister
A graduate from the Dawson College Professional Theatre Program, Irina feels privileged to have taken on a variety of roles including Lady Macbeth in Her Infinite Variety, Dian Black in George F. Walker’s dark comedy Escape from Happiness and Elizabeth Proctor in Arthur Miller’s compelling The Crucible. Aside from acting, Irina nourishes a keen interest in languages, history, travelling and yoga, actively seeking to deepen her understanding of the world around her. She is delighted to join the ranks of such a creative and talented ensemble as the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company and is looking forward to start rehearsing for their upcoming production of Macbeth.
Heather Huff as Weird Sister
Originally from Arizona, Heather Huff is a professionally trained actress with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and Dance. She has performed throughout the United States, Canada and on Cruise Ships. You may have previously seen her in Equus, Ariel Dorfman’s Speak Truth to Power or strutting her dances moves in Music of Cinema and Stage where she was also the choreographer. This is Heather's first production with M.S.T.C. and is grateful to be a part of the cast of Macbeth, a show that she has long adored. Be sure to also catch Heather at the Segal Centre's upcoming production of On Second Ave. A huge thank you goes out to all of her family and friends for their constant love and support!
Karine Kerr as Weird Sister
Karine is a Montrealer, born and raised, and a graduate of Concordia University. She learned the basics of stage performance at École de Théâtre du Vieux St-Eustache in her early teenage years and continued her on-screen training at I.O. Acting Studio under Adam Kelly. You can see her in the upcoming indie feature Pinup Dolls on Ice as well as the sci-fi short Harvest. She is excited to work with the M.T.S.C. again after being part of their Titus Andronicus production last year!
Kelly McCormick as Weird Sister
Kelly is graduating from the John Abbott Professional Theatre Program in May of this year. Macbeth will be her first production outside of her training. Her favorite past roles include Virginia in Eduardo De Filippo's "Saturday, Sunday, Monday" and Hermia in "A Midsummer Night's Dream." She is very thankful to the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company for providing her with this wonderful opportunity.
Judith Portelance as Weird Sister
Judith is currently a student in the Professional Theatre Program at Dawson College. This is her second production with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company; she had the immense honour to work with them on Titus Andronicus in 2011, and is very excited and proud to be joining them again this year. Judith has loved the tale of Macbeth since she was a child, and she is thrilled to playing one of the weird sisters – a role she has coveted since she started acting. Some of Judith’s past credits include: Ruddigore, The Pirates of Penzance, and The Yeomen of the Guard. She would like to thank Ace Lopes and Aaron George for being so supportive, and she is looking forward to working with them again. Judith would also like to thank her parents and loving boyfriend for their support and faith in her over the past few years.
Laura Sosnow as Weird Sister
Laura grew up in Ottawa and immersed herself in theatre, creative writing and dance. She is currently completing her BFA in Theatre and Creative Writing at Concordia University. She has interned as a teaching assistant for Geordie Theatre School, and credits include The Vagina Monologues (2009, 2010), The Bellows (Studentworks Festival 2010) and Theatre__Business: Fill Us In (2012). Thank you to all the brave, creative women who guide me and inspire me during this performance. Laura is thrilled to be working with the M.S.T.C. on such an amazing project as Macbeth.
Katja Teixeira as Weird Sister
Katja is a newcomer to the Montreal Shakespeare Theater Company. She's been taking part in productions since 2004 with theater groups in her hometown. After being in musicals with the Hudson Music Club and W.I.S.T.A, she's taking a break from breaking into song and dance. Katja is proud and excited to be part of the cast and begin working on MacBeth.
Katherine Turnbull as Weird Sister
A graduate of the BFA Acting Programme at the University of Windsor, Katherine has recently moved to Montreal in order to pursue her acting career. Favourite past roles include Martine in Michel Marc Bouchard’s The Orphan Muses, Lady Croom in Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia, Jane Carpenter in Jeffrey Hatcher’s Smash, and Hermione in the Bard’s The Winter Tale. Katherine is very excited to be a part of this, her first production with the M.S.T.C.!
J.S. Elie as Angus
A Montreal native and Communications Graduate from Concordia University, J.S. trained at I.O. Acting Studio and the Actor's Studio of Montreal (ASM). Recent stage credits include Marc Lepine in The Anorak and Jack Worthing in Brave New Production's Being Earnest, performed at the 2011 Montreal Fringe Festival. Following his experiences in M.S.T.C.'s Titus Andronicus as Martius Andronicus, and in the 2011-2012 school tour of Romeo and Juliet, as Tybalt and Paris, it's with great excitement that J.S. joins the Macbeth cast.
Alex de la Cruz as Menteith
After being introduced to King Lear in a high school English class, Alex has since developed a insatiable appetite for Shakespeare. Learning that Al Pacino was a Shakespeare super nerd really didn't help matters either. Alex is a Graduate of the University of Toronto as well as attending the Ryerson Acting program. Recently he has been studying the Meisner technique with Jacqueline McClintock, while acquiring an encyclopedic knowledge of the influential Group Theater. Alex is looking forward to his first production with the M.S.T.C. We are such stuff as dreams are made on.
Matthew Xhignesse as Donalbain & Caithness
Matthew is excited about his involvement in his first production with the M.S.T.C. He is currently an energetic student of Theatre at Concordia University, and has been acting constantly since the age of 9. Favourite past roles include "Rex" in Bedbugs - Concordia (2011), "Colonel Pickering" in My Fair Lady, and "Lefou" in Beauty and the Beast. Theatre has taken him to productions in the United States (Senioritis - Cappies International Theatre), as well as at the National Arts Centre (An Enemy of the People, Angel Square). He wants to thank the M.S.T.C. for this further opportunity and can't wait to work with this great team.

Mike Szymanski as Young Siward
Mike will be graduating from the John Abbott Professional Theatre program in May. He is honoured that Macbeth will be his first production outside of school. Favorite past roles include Theseus in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and Attilio in "Saturday, Sunday, Monday." Mike is excited to be working with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company on one of his favorite plays.
Joe Stones as Fleance
Joe is originally from England and moved to Montreal in December 2010. He loves drama and while in the UK took part in the Thornbury community production of 'The Wigan Girls'.
This is Joe's first experience with the M.S.T.C. and he is very excited to be involved in The Scottish Play! When asked how he felt about being here, he said: 'It's awesome!'
In his spare time Joe also enjoys making short films and animations.

Nithya Chari as Macduff's child
Nithya Chari is a student at Villa Maria High school and is currently in grade 9. Nithya has been watching Shakespeare plays at school when the M.S.T.C. visit her school and at the park during summer and enjoyed it very much. Nithya has been taking part in many cultural shows. She loves and still continues her voluntary work at her elementary school, health clinics, Teen Committee's at Dollard Library, community events and fund raising programs for schools in Africa. Apart from acting, she enjoys playing the Guitar and Drums. She is thrilled that Macbeth will be her first professional show and is very excited to work with the company that she has seen perform manyat her school!
Sasha Novozhilova as Macduff's child
Sasha was born in Russia and has lived in Montreal for 10 years. She is 14 years old and has had 5 years of experience in theatre performing various monologues in that time. This is her first experience with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company and she is very excited to have her first part in a professional play.
Joseph Ste-Marie as Soldier
Joseph is excited to be once again working with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company. He has been active in the local improv scene for over two years and has performed at Montreal Improv and Theatre Ste. Catherine for Sunday Night Improv. He’s also been getting more active in the Montreal theatre scene. Last year he wrote, produced and co-starred his first production, Elevated: Pushing Buttons at last year’s St. Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival where he was the recipient of the 2011 Spirit of The Fringe award. He is a graduate of Vanier College’s Communications program and Dawson College’s Professional Photography program. Joseph would like to thank Ace, Aaron and the entire cast & crew for giving him the opportunity to perform in this great production of Macbeth.
Laura Vizbara as Servant
Laura works in film production during the day and studies linguistics and Mandarin at Concordia University by night. She is also the Co-Director of the Montreal Chapter of The SWAP Team, for which, in addition, she writes a blog. An avid traveller, she’s just returned from Savannah, Georgia in time to start rehearsing for MacBeth. This is her second time performing with the M.S.T.C. and she is thrilled to be a part of their latest production. See you at the theatre!
