Sean Colby as Antipholus of Ephesus
Sean Colby is a recent graduate of the Dawson professional theatre program. He is extremely excited to be part of his first M.S.T.C. show and is proud to be among such a talented cast. Sean has performed in roles such as: Brutus in Julius Caesar, Guy in A Chorus Of Disapproval, Leonard in 7 Stories and Tony in You Can't Take It With You. Sean feels that "The Comedy of Errors" will be a revamped Shakespeare experience that should not be missed!
Zachary Guttman as Antipholus of Syracuse
After recently graduating from Dawson’s Professional theatre program, Zac is very thrilled to be apart of his first show with the M.S.T.C. Zac has had a very exciting year from playing such roles as Grandpa in You Can’t Take it With You, to playing Dafydd Ap Llewellyn in A Chorus of Dissaproval. Next year he will be attending Atlantic Acting School in New York City where he will be stepping further into the depths of acting.
Heather Huff as Dromio of Ephesus
Originally from Arizona, Heather Huff is a professionally trained actress with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and Dance. She has performed throughout the United States, Canada and on Cruise Ships. You may have recently seen Heather in M.S.T.C.’s Macbeth or the Segal Centre’s On Second Ave. Heather is excited to be working with M.S.T.C. again this year as an actor and is also grateful for the opportunity to be the choreographer for A Comedy of Errors. A huge thank you goes out to all of her family and friends for their constant love and support!
Vanessa Carter as Dromio of Syracuse
This is Vanessa's third production with The Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company; having been a part of last summer's Macbeth and recently on The Taming of the Disco Shrew school tour where she got to play the fun and memorable role of Hortensio. She is a graduate from the John Abbott College's professional theatre program. Some of her other past favorite roles include Gwen Landis in Lanford Wilson’s Fifth of July, Chava in Fiddler on the Roof and Polyphontes in Antigone by Sophocles. In the summer of 2011 she had the privilege to travel to Scotland and perform The Tin Can People in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She is thrilled to be working with the M.S.T.C. again this summer and is excited to see what new things she can learn from this cast and production.
Rosie Callaghan as Adriana
Having just graduated the Dawson College Professional Theatre program, Rosie is eager to get started in the professional world with M.S.T.C.'s “The Comedy of Errors”. At Dawson College, Rosie has played many roles including Bunny in “Gemini”, Caesar in “Julius Caesar” and Hannah Llewellyn in “A Chorus of Disapproval”. Rosie has a keen interest in Shakespeare that began in elementary school, where she took part in three modernized Shakespearean plays. Next year, she will be attending Randolph Academy for the Performing arts, where she will be pursuing education in her first love; Musical Theatre.
Ally Caruso as Luciana
Alessandra Caruso is entering her third year at Dawson’s Professional Theater Program where she has played Lydia Benet in Pride and Prejudice and Eve Gray in The Clone People. She is very excited to be working on such a fun play with such a friendly cast. She also hopes you enjoy the show!
Justin Johnson as The Duke
Justin is a recent graduate of Dawson’s Professional Theatre Program. He is very excited to be a part of Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company’s upcoming theatrical production. This is Justin’s first involvement with M.S.T.C. and first production since graduating. Some of his past roles include playing Ian in A Chorus of Disapproval, Mr. Henderson in You Can’t Take it with you and Cinna the poet and various ensemble roles in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. Justin is very eager to be working with a great ensemble on what promises to be an incredible and fun show.
Matthew Xhignesse as Egeon
Matthew is thrilled to be a part of his 3rd production with the M.S.T.C. this summer. A soon-to-be graduate of Concordia University's Theatre program, his career has flourished and grown greatly in the city of Montreal. Past roles have included Lucentio in Taming of the Disco Shrew, Donalbaine in Macbeth, Colonel Pickering in My Fair Lady, and Cripple Billy Claven in The Cripple of Inishmaan. He has appeared in productions at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC (Senioritis) and at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa (An Enemy of the People; Angel Square). He is very excited to dive into this new project with the MSTC and work with the many talented individuals in the cast and crew.
Adalia Pemberton-Smith as The Abbess
Adalia has just jumped on the M.S.T.C. band wagon and is very excited for this year's rockin' summer creation. She has just graduated from the Dawson Theatre program where she performed in A Chorus of Disapproval, You Can't Take It With You, Almost Maine, The Love of the Nightingale and Julius Caesar. She grew up in British Columbia and has always been involved in the performance arts whether it be dancing, singing, acting or playing make-believe. Being a part of M.S.T.C.'s The Comedy of Errors promises to be a very valuable experience shared with many passionate and talented artists.
Julia O'Donoghue as The Courtezan
Julia O'Donoghue graduated from the Dawson College DOME Theatre program in May, 2013. Throughout her career at Dawson she played a wide variety of characters from Cassius, which she played as a woman, in Julius Caesar to a young stage manager, Bridget in Alan Ayckbourn's A Chorus of Disapproval. Julia is a co-founder of a Montreal based theatre company, Raise the Stakes theatre. She played the role of Mary Snow in David French's Salt water Moon in their first production in July '12 and she is now moving on to production and design duties for the company. This year she will appear in Lunduntown with Raise the Stakes. Julia is thrilled to be working on the slamming musical version of The Comedy of Errors with The Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company!
Laurent Pitre as Angelo
Laurent Pitre is thrilled and honoured to be a part of Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company for the first time. As a recent graduate of Dawson College’s Professional Theatre program, Laurent has performed in such roles as Casca in Julius Caesar, Ed in You Can’t Take It With You, and Ted in A Chorus of Disapproval. He is excited to make a difference in the Montreal theatre community, work with an awesome ensemble and can’t wait to bring life to the beautiful work of Shakespeare!
Sandra Foisy as Balthazar / Tawny Kitten
Sandra grew up in the Laurentians, and moved to Montreal in 2005 to pursue her love of acting. She graduated from the Dawson College Professional Theatre Program in 2008. Some favorite performances include: Irma in The Madwoman of Chailliot, and Fanny Goodwill in Joseph Andrews. She has toured for two seasons with the M.S.T.C. in their adaptations of A Midsummer Night’s Dream , Hamlet ,Othello and Twelfth Night . She also got to be part of the gore in Titus Andronicus and was one of the Weird Sister's in last summer's production of Macbeth. Aside from theatre she also has enjoyed being part of numerous independent films. She is very excited and thrilled to take on Comedy of Errors this summer and would like to thank the M.S.T.C. for this amazing opportunity and wonderful experience.
Amanda Goldberg as Merchant #1
Amanda will be completing her final year in the Professional Theatre program at Dawson College, which commences this fall. In the past year shehas played roles in two productions: Lady Catherine in Pride and Prejudiceand Sally Pierson in The Clone People. Vishesh Abeyratne as Merchant #2
A Montrealer born and raised, Vishesh is just graduating from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Playwriting. He has authored and mounted a small number of shows including Fourth Wall Syndrome (1st Annual Gala for Student Drama, 2011), The Presentation (2nd Annual Gala for Student Drama, 2012) and Exposure (Teen Tour Theatre, 2012). As an actor, he made his indie theatre debut last year as Ishaan in Ann Lambert's Jocasta's Noose (Montreal Fringe, 2012) and he will be performing again at this year's Montreal Fringe Festival in his upcoming play Racial Roulette. Vishesh is quite thrilled to be working on his first production with the M.S.T.C. and would like to thank them for this incredible opportunity!
Shayna Spivak as Luce
A graduate of Dawson College's theatre program, Shayna is excited to join forces with the M.S.T.C. team. She is currently en route to McGill University, though still continuing to perform on various theatrical and operatic stages throughout her studies. Having played a variety of roles including Lucille in Gemini, Lucius in Julius Caesar, and now playing Luce in A Comedy of Errors, Shayna is determined to light up the stage, both in theatre and music.
Julianna Kun as Pinch
Julianna is a graduate of the John Abbott College Professional Theatre Program. Some of her favourite roles have been in Hair (JAC Theatre), You Can’t Take It With You (JAC Theatre), Elektra (JAC Theatre), Suddenly Last Summer (Village Scene Productions), Aladdin (Left of Centre Theatre Co.), Henry V and Far From the Madding Crowd (Persephone Productions), Titus Andronicus (Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company) and The Tempest (Kaleidoscope Theatre). Most recently, she made her directorial debut with the Lakeshore Players production of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None. Julianna is thrilled to be working once again with the M.S.T.C. on The Comedy of Errors.
Eleni Metrakos as Tawny Kitten
Eleni is thrilled to be part of the cast of The Comedy of Errors. Hailing from Montreal, this is Eleni's first time working with the Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company. She is currently at Dawson College in the Professional Theatre Program. Over the years, she's been in Peter Pan (John), Cats (Grizabella), Harvey (Veta), Pride & Prejudice (Caroline Bingley), and most recently as a disciple in Godspell at the Centaur. She'd like to thank Ace and Aaron for putting on this show and casting her in it. She'd also like to extend her gratitude to her family and Toby, as well as the teachers and mentors she's had throughout her life for supporting her.
Amanda Coochey as Tawny Kitten
Amanda has always loved singing and dancing growing up, and is now turning those dreams into reality as she heads into her second year in Dawson College’s Professional Theatre program in the fall. Amanda is a big fan of M.S.T.C., after seeing their inspiring production of Twelfth Night a few years ago she hoped one day she could be part of such a fantastic production, and is now proud to be joining many fellow Domies in the cast of "The Comedy of Errors", which is also her first professional production.”
Joseph Ste-Marie as Jailer
Joseph is excited to be working once again with the M.S.T.C. for the third year in a row! He was the recipient of the Spirit of the FRINGE award at the 2011 St. Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival, where he wrote, produced and co-starred in his first production, Elevated: Pushing Buttons. Since then, he has been attending acting classes to further his theatre training at the M.S.O.P.A. and he has recently been attending classes at I.O. Acting Studio with Adam Kelly Morton. Apart from his continued ventures in the acting world, Joseph is a trained professional photographer. A graduate of Dawson College's Professional Photography program, he has established himself as one of the theatre/improv-centric photographer in the local English indie theatre community. The image he photographed for last year 's MSTC production Macbeth, was the recipient of The Charlebois Post's Photo of the Year award for the Montreal Theatre Scene. Joseph would like to thanks Ace & Aaron once again for the opportunity to be a part of The Comedy of Errors!
Laura Vizbara as Officer
Laura works in film production by day, studies linguistics and Chinese at Concordia University by night and moonlights as a performer in various theatrical and film productions in and around Montreal. Past credits include background work in The M.S.T.C.'s production of Titus Andronicus and the role of The Servant in their production of Macbeth. Most recently she was seen as Mrs. Fezzywig in The Rialto Theater's production of A Christmas Carol and as Claire Preminger in the Point Saint-Charles Community Theater's production of Noel Coward's Nude with Violin. She is proud and thrilled to be part of The M.S.T.C.'s musical rendition of The Comedy of Errors. As always, she is grateful towards The M.S.T.C.'s cast and crew that keep warmly welcoming her aboard year after year. A big shout out to her friends and family who keep coming time and time again to see her perform. See you at the theater!
