Meet the crew of
MACBETH
Aaron George.....Director
Aaron has had the privilege of being the Artistic Director of the MSTC since 2001. Past shows directed include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Comedy of Errors, Twelfth Night, Hamlet, Taming of the Shrew, Julius Caesar, The Tempest, Merchant of Venice, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Othello, King Lear and last year’s Titus Andronicus. He’s also had a hand in creating three award-winning fringe festival shows: Star Wars Survivor, Rains down in Africa and the Cobra: The Musical series. Aaron is proud to tackle this wonderful work with such a fearless group of performers and designers. He would like to dedicate this show to his burgeoning young family including his wonderful wife Niki, his three cats and the youngest member of the George clan (name pending). He truly loves his work, and is humbled by everyone’s support. Enjoy the show!
Ace Lopes.....All Percussion / Executive Producer
Ace is the M.S.T.C.'s Executive Producer and co-founder. In its 11 year history the company has performed a total of 36 different plays, in over 100 schools, for over 80,000 people, and has employed over 200 actors, and there is no end in sight! Ace is extremely proud of the company's accomplishments and is having a great year enjoying all the new challenges the company has faced this year including doing a show completely in French and performing in a chapel with no sets; using the chapel as the background to Romeo & Juliet. He is also excited to be once again providing an original soundtrack for Macbeth after doing so in last year's Titus Andronicus. That in itself was a surprising accomplishment for a guy who is best known for his Rock drumming and not for writing the music for a Shakespearean play, and he feels very fortunate to once again have the opportunity to do so!
Luca Franco Paveglio.....Stage Manager
Luca Paveglio graduated from Dawson's theatre progam and has been working various positions behind the scenes since then, spanning from light and sound operation to set design with a detour through front of house, he is looking forward to acquiring his first management experience by working with M.S.T.C. on this summer's Macbeth and learning a new facet of the theatre experience.
Amy Blackmore.....Choreographer
Amy Blackmore is thrilled to be working with the M.S.T.C. again! Amy is an award-winning choreographer having produced, directed, choreographed, performed and assisted for the work of many companies including the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, The Montreal Highlights Festival, Crystal Pite's Kidd Pivot, Pop Montréal and RubberBanDance. Recent choreography credits include choreography for So There's This Girl (Bis Films), Titus Andronicus (M.S.T.C.), Sexy Dirty Bloody Scary & The Mid-Life Crisis of Dionysus (MainLine Theatre). When she is not sharing her love of all things dance, Amy is the Director of the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival, the Artistic Director & founder of Bouge D'ici Dance Festival, the President of Le Regroupement des événements pluridisciplinaires indépendants de Montréal and the reigning Quebec Provincial Air Guitar Champion.
Paul DeTourreil.....Fight Choreographer
Paul de Tourreil is a local playwright, performer, fight choreographer, director and producer. He has worked as a professional kung fu instructor since 1997, as well as co-founding Vangarde Theatre in 1998 (proudly offering Montreal's only Money-Back Guarantee), and Sketch Kombat in 2010 (Montreal's first stage-combat/sketch-comedy team). A member of Fight Directors Canada, he first certified as an Actor-Combatant in 2000, and has continued to upgrade his skills ever since, most recently in Banff at the Paddy Crean International Stage Combat Conference, where he had the privilege of learning from some of the world's best stage fighters, stuntmen, martial artists and fight directors. His work has been presented at Just For Laughs, the Montreal Fringe Festival (Winner- Best Text, 2009), Mainline Theatre, Montreal Improv, Comedyworks, Theatre de la Manufacture, Theatre Prospero, and INIS (L'institut national de l'image et son).
He is very excited to be contributing to the murder and mayhem of M.S.T.C.'s upcoming production of that Scottish Play.
